- What’s your best travel memory ?
Looking for a tibetan petroglyph in Tamga, in Kyrgyzstan. I never found it but I will never be able to forget the beautiful scenery, the orchard, and the villages I walked across, during that afternoon of September. I’d say that most of the time, the road matters more than the destination.
- Which place would you highly recommend ?
The Tranquil Resort, Wayanad, Kerala in India. It’s a small place, remotely located in the middle of a coffee plantation and some green hills, where we are welcomed like friends by the owner. You should definitely sleep in the bedroom located on the treetop, walk in the middle of the coffee-trees and take a look around, gaze at the fireflies..
- Where would you settle down ?
I would enjoy settling down in Istanbul, I appreciate its tradition and modernism, the markets, mosques, bustling neighborhoods, hype disctricts, the Golden Horn, small tea cups, the old Caravanserais, shisha cafés, fish sandwiches, the Bosphorus, the old bazaars and the great vitality of the city.
- What’s your dream trip ?
Reading the Prose of the Trans-Siberian and of Little Jehanne of France while contemplating the birches’ forest through the russian train windows. Right there, I’d be drinking a cup of black tea, having delightful thoughts about my upcoming trips.
- Are you rather into highly organized travel or improvisation ?
I enjoy boarding a train without any specific destination because « travelling is really useful, it puts your imagination to work » said L.F. Céline
- Your all-time top three destinations ?
The spontaneity in India. The warmth of Turkey and of the Turkish people. And Iran !
- Where to go, when and why ?
You should definitely go to central Asia in August or September.
