Any questions?

  • What’s your best travel memory ?

My best travel memory is my 3-hour walking safari in South Africa when I came nose-to-nose with a few elephants... it was a great moment of surprise, combined with a touch of reciprocal fear. In the evening, while sipping a glass of great wine in the heart of the bush, we were reminiscing about this unique moment we lived !

  • Which place would you highly recommend ?

I would highly recommend this place : Tahaa private Island in French Polynesia. An amazing 5-star hotel lays on the surface of the water and you will be able to spot stingrays through the glass floor of your bedroom. This is one of the most beautiful hotels I’ve seen in my life, an exquisite experience !

  • Where would you settle down ?

Costa Rica is close to home and is a little paradise where I would gladly settle down. The gorgeous landscape, the extreme kindness of the Costa Ricans... are reasons why I would love to spend my golden years in Tico country.

  • What’s your dream trip ?

My dream trip is definitely a journey into Space ! It will be a really popular travel style in the near future. I made a promise I will take a sub-orbital flight with my son, he currently is 5 years old. 100 km above Earth ! Patience is the keyword, I will go there...

  • Are you rather into highly organized travel or improvisation ?

I appreciate it when the journey is organized from A to Z because I don’t have much free time. I want to live intense moments when I travel, with a touch of adventure... so I enjoy travel itineraries offering a possibility to spend some days at leisure in major cities.

  • Your all-time top three destinations ?

South Africa : multiculturalism, breathtaking landscapes, its refinement, premium wines, game drives.
Bhutan : very few tourists go there
French Polynesia : nothing can compare to this fabulous place, a real paradise on earth !

  • Where to go, when and why ?

Going anywhere no one goes at the same time, makes your journey unique. I went alone to see the Pyramids of Egypt in January 2012. I travelled to Costa Rica during the wet season and it was marvellous. I also went to French Polynesia during summertime.

Trip of Benoit

How would you describe your overall impression of this Uniktour trip?

This was a magnificent trip, full of good stories and fabulous landscapes. Every region has its own particular charm and breathtaking scenery. From the magnificent horses at Kildare’s National Stud to Cashel Castle by way of the magnificent landscapes of the Kerry peninsulas and the rocky plains of the Burren, we discovered a new side of Ireland every day. The city tours were pleasant and I particularly liked discovering Kinsale, Galway, Belfast and Dublin on foot. I came back filled with pleasant memories and hundreds of pictures to accompany them.

Overall, how would you describe your appreciation of your Uniktour travel specialist?

Mrs. Blaquière was very pleasant, she always listened to what I had to say and gave me good service throughout the trip planning process, and even during the trip, when I needed her help to change my return plane ticket. Answers came quickly and I got good advice for what ended up being my first international trip. Thank-you!

Describe your overall impression of on-location services (hotels, guides, etc.):

The B&B were all very good, very clean, and comfortable. Hosts were very helpful, particularly those who welcomed me my first night in Dublin. These are proud and respectful people who know their region and can give you good advice.

Do you have any tips for other travelers thinking of going on this trip?

A GPS is essential for traveling on the Irish roads: there are no addresses or street names in Ireland. This little extra will avoid lots of problems. Don’t forget a waterproof jacket for the frequent rains and winds.

Is there a memorable moment or trip highlight you would like to share?

Two visits stand out: Healy Pass in Beara peninsula in County Kerry, a small road that snakes across the valley between the mountains; it took my breath away a few times. Visiting the Passage tombs in Newgrange…. entering a passage leading to an underground chamber built over 5000 years ago by the region’s early settlers…it’s a must see.
