How would you describe your overall impression of this Uniktour trip?
This is the second time I travel with Uniktour. Like the first time, everything went very well. The hikes took us to see magnificent landscapes, the camping and transportation were very well organized, the food was very good, and the guide and driver were very kind!
Overall, how would you describe your appreciation of your Uniktour travel specialist?
François is so efficient! He has great advice, promptly answers my questions, and carefully looks after every aspect of the organization (research, reservation, flights, feedback upon our return, etc).
Describe your overall impression of on-location services (hotels, guides, etc.):
A guide from Iceland: who better to share this country with us! One of his first sentences was “In Iceland, everything is possible.” Indeed, on our first day, volcanic activity under a glacier pushed a river out of its bed and demolished the bridge on which we were supposed to pass…Conclusion: change of plans! And yet, our guide and driver were able to take care of the situation with ease.
Do you have any tips for other travelers thinking of going on this trip?
Since there is daylight 20 hours per day, I didn’t feel like sleeping, so I was tired for the first few days. After a while, I got used to it and it was great being able to set up my tent without having to worry about night falling too soon!
Is there a memorable moment or trip highlight you would like to share?
I can’t really limit myself to one favorite moment…;) The columns of smoke and solfataras were very spectacular, both for the eyes and the ears. The magnificent landscape around Landmannalaugar seemed like it belonged to another world. Crossing dozens of rivers and streams on roads that were only accessible by 4X4. The lava fields. Swimming in the hot springs. The Icelandic songs that our guide sang to us while playing his guitar! Iceland: land of fire and ice. There is no better way to sum up this country!
