- Day 1 | International flight
Flight to Athens.
- Day 2 | Athens
Arrival at Athens airport. Staff welcome and transfer to your downtown hotel. Settle into the Philippos hotel or similar (http://www.philipposhotel.gr). Depending on your arrival time, discover this great capital: the Acropolis, the Pantheon, as well as Plaka and Monastiraki districts.
- Day 3 | Athens - Nafplio (150 KM)
Breakfast. Pick-up your rental car at your hotel (Cat B1, Opel Corsa), and then you are off! Today you head to the Peloponnese. You have the option of stopping to visit Ancient Corinth and its museum. Continue towards Mycenae, followed by Epidaurus’ theatre. You should have enough time to visit the fortress of Palamidi or Bourtzi castle. Dinner and overnight in Nafplion (Ippoliti Hotel or similar).
- Day 4 | Nafplio - Olympia (165 KM)
After breakfast, we recommend that you take the time to enjoy a nice morning stroll around the wonderful city of Nafplio. Today, your destination is Olympia, birthplace of the Olympic games.
Leave Nafplion behind and head for Tripoli, followed by Olympia. Overnight in Olympia (Hotel Europa or similar).
- Day 5 | Olympia - Delphi (190 KM)
Enjoy breakfast. Visit the archeological site and the museum. Today you set your sights on Delphi. Head for Pyrgos, then take the coastal route until Patra and reach the newly built suspension bridge in Rio, Europe’s longest. Drive across Antirio and head for Nafpaktos - Galaxidi - Itea – Delphi. Amalia Hotel or similar.
- Day 6 | Delphi - Meteora (225 KM)
Breakfast is followed by a visit of the archeological site and museum. This area was once considered the center (“Omphalos”) of the earth. Today your destination is Kalambaka and the Meteora. Head north towards Lamia, Karditsa, Trikala, and finally, Kalambaka, at the foot of the Meteora, a stunning site with surprising monasteries. Dinner and overnight in Kalambaka (Hotel Meteora Kastraki or similar).
- Day 7 | Kalambaka - Athens (320 KM)
After breakfast, visit 1-3 monasteries of your choosing. You will adore this unique and rewarding experience! Note that we can organize guided visits of the monasteries for those interested. Once you are done with your visits, it’s time to return to Athens. Late afternoon arrival in Athens followed by rental car drop-off. Overnight in Athens.
- Day 8 | Athens - Crete
After breakfast you are transferred to Athens airport for your flight to Chania. Upon your arrival, pick-up your rental car (Cat B1, Opel Corsa). Transfer to Chania and settle into your hotel (Porto Veneziano Hotel or similar).
- Days 9-10 | Crete (western part)
Leisure days in the western part of the island. You can choose between many hiking trails, including one taking you to Samaria gorge.
- Day 11 | Chania - Rethymnon
After breakfast you head for the island’s center. Settle into Rethymnon for the night (Hotel Venetos or similar).
- Day 12 | Rethymnon - Agios Nikolaos
After breakfast head for the eastern part of the island. Settle into Agios Nikolaos bay (Elounda Blue Bay Hotel or similar).
- Days 13 to 15 | Agios Nikolaos
A relaxing couple of days at this resort, breakfast included! The charming pebble or sand beaches make this a pleasant place to spend some time in summer or autumn, when the water is still warm and perfect for swimming. In the evening the streets are rather quiet, despite the fact that a number of local taverns offer local spirits and a chance to play tavli, a favorite game among Cretans.
- Day 16 | Crete - Santorini
After breakfast head to Heraklion and drop-off your rental car before your flight to Santorini (10:10 – 10:30). Arrival and welcome. Private transfer to your hotel. Overnight in Santorini (Ira Hotel or similar).
- Days 17 to 19 | Santorini
A pleasant stay in Santorini, breakfast included! What more can be said about this beautiful island that hasn’t already been said? There is magic at play here, even in high season when the crowds roll in. All you have to do is to settle into a remote place and enjoy the views on the Caldera, perhaps from your private balcony or terrace. Careful: you might discover your own inner philosopher as you gaze at the beautiful landscape. Apart from the lovely trails – especially the one taking you from Thira to Oia along the cliff walls – don’t miss the archeological museum and the wall paintings in Thira.
- Day 20 | Santorini - Mykonos
After breakfast, transfer to the port where you board your ship for Mykonos (max. 3 hrs on the boat). Upon your arrival you will be taken to your hotel, Mykonos Palace Hotel (sea view) or similar.
- Days 21-22 | Mykonos
A relaxing stay in Mykonos, breakfast included. With its white houses and windmills, this may just be the most characteristic of Greek islands. Thousands of visitors come here each year. This island is mostly known for its lively nightlife in the summertime. Apart from its white cities, beloved by painters and visitors alike, Mikonos is also known for its fine sands and crystal clear waters. The most famous ones are located at the southern part of the island.
- Day 23 | Mykonos - Athens
After breakfast, transfer to Mykonos airport for your flight to Athens. Welcome and private transfer to your hotel. Overnight in Athens.
- Day 24 | Departure
Breakfast, followed by a private transfer to the airport for your flight back to Montreal.
