Essential Tanzania and Zanziba..

13 DAYS / 11 NIGHTS - de 8200$ à 9430$ CAD

  • Tanzania safari, with Zanzibar extension vacation package

- With a third of its lands protected, Tanzania is one of the most unique safari destinations in the world. The country’s 14 national parks compete in beauty, all created to preserve the country’s rich natural heritage and to keep territories in tact where fauna and flora thrive.

During this customized safari, you will see that Tanzania has resisted the temptation of mass tourism in lieu of ecological tourism. Visitors and accommodations are carefully controlled, ensuring an even distribution that avoids pressure on the animals and minimizes human impact on the environment. Serengeti Park, the most popular in the world, remains a totally untamed area, with no roads over a stretch of 7,000 square kilometres, or more than half of its surface.

Following the itinerary for this program, you’ll explore Tanzania’s beautiful reserves, including Manyara Park, famous for its variety of landscapes and the richness of its wildlife. First, you’ll pass through a small acacia forest, inhabited by an abundance of baboons and exotic birds, before traveling across the plains, often populated by herds of bison, before arriving at Lake Manyara. Next, you’ll approach the legendary Ngorongoro Crater, where tens of thousands of animals peacefully graze amidst a breathtaking panorama.

You will conclude your discovery of Tanzania with a few days of relaxation at a boutique lodge in Zanzibar, where beaches, sun and cool breeze highlight the program.

Don’t hesitate to consult our Tanzania specialist adviser in order to obtain more information on this customized safari!

  • Day 1 | INTERNATIONAL FLIGHT

  • Day 2 | ARRIVAL AT KILIMANJARO - ARUSHA

Arrival at Kilimanjaro airport. Welcome by our francophone representative and transfer to your hotel. Lodging.

  • Day 3 | ARUSHA - TARANGIRE (B , L, D)

Depart for Tarangire National Park. This park consists mainly of small hills, carpeted with a lush vegetation of acacia forests and giant baobabs. While relatively small, this park has great appeal ; it is easily accessible, it is inhabited by diverse wildlife and it is infrequently visited by tourists. Safari at the end of the day. Lodging.

  • Day 4 | TARANGIRE - MANYARA NATIONAL PARK (B, L, D)

Morning safari in Tarangire Park. Outside of the Serengeti ecosystem, this park engulfs one of the largest concentrations of wildlife, which also attracts predators. Continue to Manyara for a second safari in the afternoon. Manyara Park takes its name from the words “Maa emanyara”, meaning a type of euphorbia. Though limited in size, it is renowned for its variety of landscapes and the richness of its wildlife. First, you’ll pass through a small acacia forest, inhabited by an abundance of baboons and exotic birds, before traveling across the plains, often populated by herds of bisons, before arriving at Lake Manyara. You’ll be able to closely observe elephants and giraffes, and even lions on occasion as they bask on the branch of an acacia, which this park is famous for!

At certain times of the year, the lake’s shores are populated by thousands of flamingos, but also pelicans, fish eagles, sacred ibis, crowned cranes and marabous. You can also observe groups of hippos, occasionally out of water. There are more than 400 species of birds living here, offering a rare treat for birdwatchers. Lodging.

  • Day 5 | MANYARA - SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK (B, L, D)

Depart for the Serengeti, one of the most famous and largest reserves in the world. Safari en route. In the Maasai language, Serengeti means “endless plains”, a well-deserved name for this vast land spanning almost 15,000 km2, extending from the Masai Mara (Kenya, which harbours the largest concentration of plains animals in Africa). The route is lined with beautiful landscapes. Settle into your lodge. Lodging.

  • Day 6 | SAFARI IN THE SERENGETI PLAINS (B, L, D)

Day safari on the Serengeti plains: grasslands and shrubs. You can see lions on the “kopjes”, or rocky islets, and explore areas inhabited by leopards, cheetahs and many other animals. It is also along these plains where the “great migration” unfolds, with the seasonal migration of tens of thousands of wildebeest and zebras between the Serengeti and the Masai Mara reserve in search of greener pastures. Lodging.

  • Day 7 | SERENGETI - NGORONGORO CRATER (B , L, D)

Beautiful crossing the Serengeti plains to the protected zone of Ngorongoro, with safari en route. Stop at Olduvai Gorge, site of the Homo Erectus discovery, a critical finding in the study of the evolution of man (2). Lodging.

  • Day 8 | SAFARI TO NGORONGORO CRATER - KARATU (B , L in the crater, D)

Descend into the crater for an unforgettable safari, a unique natural sanctuary inhabited by numerous wild animals. Arrive at the ridge, at 2,300 m, where you’ll be greeted by panoramic views of the “caldera”, 20 kms in diameter and the second largest crater in the world. In addition to the breathtaking beauty of the landscape, the first views from the peak are exhilarating, giving way to an unforgettable safari in an exceptional place.

At the bottom, the prairies blend into swamps, lakes, rivers, woodlands and mountains, all of which are havens for wildlife, including the densest population of predators in Africa. The location contains as many as 25,000 large mammals, mainly gazelles, bison, big cats (lions, leopards and cheetahs), elephants and even protected species of rare rhinos. Lodging.

  • Day 9 | KARATU - ARUSHA - ZANZIBAR (B, L, D)

Return to Arusha. After dinner, transfer to Arusha airport (or Kilimanjaro airport). Flight to the island of Zanzibar. Upon arrival, transfer (with driver) to your charming 5* lodge. Lodging.

Four nights stay in a deluxe bungalow room, with half-board (breakfast and dinner).

  • Day 13 | ZANZIBAR - DAR ES SALAAM - DEPARTURE (B)
